The new MyHomesID service solves information management challenges related to apartments and properties
Bulletin 4 April 2022 – MyHomesID
MyHomesID is a new digital service that provides a solution for managing housing and real estate affairs. In Finland alone, there are approximately 3.1 million homes, which involve a vast amount of information from throughout their lifespan. For instance, documents, maintenance records and warranty receipts for household appliances are scattered across multiple locations, and tracking them down requires the use of a number of different services, user IDs and passwords. MyHomesID brings the management of housing and real estate affairs into the digital age and promotes sustainable development and new business models based on network co-operation.
The MyHomesID service was developed by the Finnish startup company MyHID Oy, whose goal is to become an international service provider and platform supplier. The service is currently in the piloting stage and is being developed into an easy-to-use cloud service based on customer experiences. The service aims to accommodate the needs of private users by helping them manage information related to housing and properties.
In Finland, MyHomesID will be launched during 2022. Internationally, the service will be launched in a few years’ time. The market is huge, as the basic things and challenges related to the management of housing and real estate are more or less the same all over the world.
MyHomesID increases the value of your apartment or property by compiling the important information in the cloud service
Homes, such as detached houses, apartments and summer cottages, are often the most important property a private individual owns. The management of these and of other properties involves a lot of information, such as documents, designs, renovations, maintenance procedures, manuals and household appliance warranty receipts. The need for the MyHomesID service was there, as digital development highlights the importance of accurate and up-to-date information. Information is a valuable asset, and it increases the value of any kind of property.
“The idea behind developing the service came from the fact that there was no service on the market for private individuals to easily manage their affairs related to housing, apartments and real estate even with limited digital skills. As a developer of corporate IT systems, we realised that the same practices we provided on the corporate side could be applied just as well on the consumer side. Through the promotion of digitalisation, we can be involved in improving environmental responsibility and promote the creation of new business functions. We find that this presents an excellent opportunity for global business,” says Tuula Pitkänen, Managing Director of MyHomesID.
A service developed on the basis of customer feedback
MyHomesID is a fully user-managed high-security service, where you can systematically compile all the information related to your detached house, for example, securely in one digital service. The user of the service is the only one who can see all the information and can share the things that they want with others. MyHomesID offers a solution for various topical everyday needs. For instance, children will have an easier time taking care of the affairs of their aged parents, receipts and other affairs related to renovations can be kept safe and in order, and the buyer of the apartment gets a comprehensive information package on the apartment’s background and important documents. The main concepts behind the development work have been ease of use and security. “We have a co-operation network and technology that we can trust. Matters of information security are at the forefront of the service. This is why we have implemented the service on the leading cloud service platform in the world, Amazon Web Service (AWS),” says Pitkänen.
MyHID – a Finnish startup with experienced IT experts
The MyHomesID service is developed by the Finnish service provider MyHID Oy. The founders of the company have decades of IT industry experience in developing similar services on the corporate side. For instance, Jydacom Oy and Buildercom Oy, which develop IT systems for the needs of construction industry businesses, are companies founded by the owners of MyHID Oy. The new MyHomesID service brings the expertise of the owners to private consumers. The service opens up a world of possibilities. It is scalable for a wide international market and can be applied for other uses as well. The goal is to also develop the MyHomesID service model so that it opens up possibilities for network co-operation and brings new business opportunities to various operators.
